The Rabbit Hole will change the cultural and educational landscape of Kansas City. It will lend itself to an array of partnering opportunities, serving as a programming bridge and collaborator with area libraries and a host of arts organizations. It will be a sanctuary for area literacy concerns and act as a megaphone for these causes. It will establish an enduring platform for educators in the metro by providing essential field trip opportunities that support standards and scaffold academic growth, along with literature festivals and book fairs.
Currently, The Rabbit Hole is exploring opportunities for partnerships and collaborations with the Kansas City Public Library, Kansas City Art Institute, Paul Mesner Puppets, Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, Turn the Page, Literacy KC, Andrews McMeel Publishing, Johnson County Public Library, Lyric Opera of Kansas City...
:: This remarkable traveling pop-up experience (the first Rabbit Hole outreach project of it's kind) features George and Harold and the oddball adventures of Captain Underpants. A 16-foot triptych constructed from 30 sheets of plywood in the style of a victorian pop-up book highlights three life-size vignettes that will integrate students into the untamed world of author, Dav Pilkey. The Pilkey pop-up will soon begin visiting schools and libraries in the area.
