EDUCATION MANAGER
Job Summary

The Rabbit hOle is seeking an experienced, visionary individual to join a growing team of artists and administrative staff as the Education Manager of a new museum experience around literature. The Education Manager will oversee and advance the implementation and evaluation of balanced and innovative educational programming at The Rabbit hOle for young people and adults. This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated individual to help build a national institution. This is a full-time position with benefits and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Work with Directors and designated staff to develop and deliver high quality educational programming and services across program areas in keeping with The Rabbit hOle’s mission.

  • Develop and implement public programs for family and community audiences.

  • Develop and implement programs for educators.

  • Develop and implement programs for classroom field trips.

  • Provide oversight of field trips through staff management, training and program development, as well as direct instruction, as needed.

  • Ensure that school programs support state curriculum requirements and align with state standards, as needed.

  • Work with Directors to develop policies and best practices around the museum’s educational programs.

  • Work with Directors and designated staff to establish long and short-term strategic goals for the education programs within the Rabbit hOle.

  • Provide leadership, vision, and strategic direction for the Education team.

  • Collaborate with partners including universities, museums, libraries, and community organizations to develop and deliver programming that supports The Rabbit hOle’s mission.

  • Oversee and work with designated staff to develop educational content for the museum’s website and digital media.

  • Assist with the training, scheduling, and evaluation of volunteers, as needed.

  • Monitor spending according to established programming, grant, and operations budgets.

  • Liaise with the Museum’s Development team to explore funding opportunities.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • 3-5 years leadership experience in the museum space in education and programming

  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills

  • A sense of humor

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred
