FABRICATION SHOP & FACILITIES COORDINATOR

We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Shop & Facilities Coordinator to oversee maintenance operations, materials procurement, OSHA compliance, and organization within our fabrication facility and museum. The ideal candidate will possess a strong working knowledge of wood, metal, and finishing operations and equipment. Museum facilities management experience is a plus.

Equipment Maintenance and Repair

Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance and inspection schedules to ensure optimal functioning of all fabrication equipment and machinery, as well as coordinating with staff and external vendors for specialized repairs and maintenance services as needed


Inventory Management

Track inventory of hardware, spare parts, tools, consumables, and other supplies required for all fabrication activities and establish efficient procurement processes (including local travel to make pick-ups) with various vendors to ensure timely availability of required materials while minimizing costs.


Safety Compliance and Organization

Coordinate with directors to ensure OSHA standards are met for all areas of fabrication, as well as collaborating with department leads to organize fabrication spaces for safe and efficient work environments.


Museum Facility Maintenance

Work with directors and the operations manager to oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of museum facilities and coordinate with in-house staff or outside vendors to complete repairs, schedule routine maintenance, respond to daily facility needs, and act as a keyholder for the museum's end-of-day closure, as needed.

Job Summary
Requirements
Responsibilities​
  • 3-5 years of experience with enclosed Fabrication Shops that produce works of metal, wood, foam sculpting, fiberglass, etc.

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA standards and compliance

  • Ability to respond to and manage building-related emergency situations

  • Computer proficiency

  • Strong strategic/analytic problem solving skills

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects/issues simultaneously

  • Demonstrated ability to manage maintenance and procurement budget

  • A sense of humor

Background in museum studies or experience in Museum facilities management a plus
