Tue 7/15 & Thurs 7/17, 10:30-12:30

Story Lab & Print Shop: A Foray into the Botanical Imaginary of My Father’s Dragon

Dig into the fantastical flora of My Father’s Dragon and create a print illustration of your own plant specimen.

Ages 12-14

In this printmaking workshop we will examine the fantastical botanical imagery in My Father’s Dragon, written by Ruth Stiles Gannett and illustrated by Ruth Chrisman Gannett. Participants will create their own fictional plant specimens and have fun mimicking and manipulating the taxonomic language to name and describe their plants. In the Print Shop, we will use a variety of printmaking techniques to create colorful print illustrations of our plant specimens.
