Member Event: My Mother’s Father’s Dragon Celebration
Sat 10/11 4:30-6:30 PM

Rabbit hOle members are invited to a special evening celebrating the opening of our Discovery Gallery!

Ages 5+

We are excited to offer Rabbit hOle members to a special evening celebrating the opening of our Discovery Gallery, featuring original artwork from the Newberry award-winning 1948 children's novel My Father’s Dragon, written by Ruth Stiles Gannett and illustrated by her stepmother Ruth Chrisman Gannett.

This family-friendly evening will feature a first look at our interactive gallery experience, designed to transport guests to Wild Island where Elmer encounters a unique cast of creatures on his way to rescue a captive baby dragon – who many of you know as the dragon circling the staircase to our second floor!

We will be joined by the living descendants of Ruth Stiles Gannett, who have worked closely with The Rabbit hOle design team to share invaluable familial insight and curatorial guidance. Guests will also enjoy a performance by the American Wild Ensemble and light refreshments.

Tickets are limited and registration is required for each guest to secure free admission.

Questions or requests for accommodations can be directed to programs@rabbitholekc.org.

Please note:

- The presentation begins promptly at 6:00 p.m.

- You must RSVP to attend this event. Walk-ups will not be admitted.

- Recommended for guests aged 5 and older.

- Each ticket includes a drink ticket for an alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage.
