Programming Assistant
Job Summary

The Rabbit hOle is seeking a dynamic and creative Program assistant to work with the
Programming Team and designated staff to help communicate and execute programming for
the museum. This role provides support to the programming manager to communicate with
stakeholders, coordinate with volunteers and execute programs. This role will organize with
other departments to ensure program execution. The Program assistant will work with the
Program Manager to organize programs, workshops and events at the museum for both adults
and children. This role relies on strong writing, communication and organizational skills, and
the ability to pivot easily between assigned tasks. Flexibility and a willingness to approach
every situation with a problem-solving mentality are crucial to thriving in this position.

Responsibilities

1. Program Organization:

  • Work with the Programming Team and other staff to execute programming that aligns with the museum's mission and goals.

  • Support with a range of recurring and one-off events that cater to a diverse range of children, families, educators and adults.

2. Internal Collaboration:

  • Clearly and effectively communicate the run of programs to all involved parties, including staff and volunteers.

  • Work with the ticketing software manager to pull reports and track key performance indicators to measure the impact of programs as they relate to reach, repeat visits, per capita spending and guest satisfaction, as needed.

3. External Collaboration:

  • Draft clear program descriptions for the museum website and other external collateral as needed.

  • Interact regularly with program attendees of all ages and backgrounds, providing directions, answers and information as needed.

  • Work with the Programming Team, front desk, cafe, and volunteer assistant to properly staff and run these private visits and rentals.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in education, museum studies, communications, or a related field OR commensurate experience.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear correspondence and communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and the public.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments and with diverse teams.

  • Proficiency with office and communication tools, such as Google Workspace.

  • Understanding of Salesforce a plus.

  • Regular availability on evenings and weekends.

  • Strong knowledge of children's literature, with a passion for and willingness to further explore the history and culture of children's literature.
